A great WordPress.com site

Brussels, Amsterdam, Koln, Luxembourg, Paris

Hi I went on a road trip with my family for 12 days and these are the countries we went to:

Brussels, Belgium

In Belgium there were a lot of waffles and chocolate. Belgium is about 30,528 square kilometres and 11 million people live there. I think Brussels is a really nice city. There are lots of statues of a little boy peeing. It is called the Manneken Pis and it was originally made in 1618.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam was really stinky! I noticed a lot of people smoke at cafes and restaurants. There are a lot of bikes, a lot of tourists. It rains a lot but it’s really pretty too. The food is delicious and there are a lot of trams and beautiful fountains. The population of Amsterdam is 813,562.

Koln / Cologne, Germany

The castles are amazing and we saw a gothic looking cathedral. They started building the Cologne Cathedral in 1248 and it opened in 1880. That is 632 years of building!

We also drove past a forest and it was beautiful. There were  lots of runners and delicious food. Cologne is the fourth largest city in Germany.

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

I went shopping at H&M, we had lunch and Cohen peed on the seat, There was a statue-like of a man holding up a woman sitting on a ball and everyone was taking pictures, trying to work out how the woman was balancing on a ball. Luxembourg is in the heart of western Europe. 237 km from Brussels (by road). It reminded me of Monaco.

Paris, France

When I first got to Paris I thought it was awesome. But then it wasn’t. I went for dinner with my family and we saw a man reach into a lady’s hand bag but he didn’t get any thing because mum and dad yelled out at him.  When we finished dinner we walked down the street to our car and on the way we saw a smashed glass door of a shop!

We picked up my grandmother GinGin at Charles de Gaulle airport and we took her straight to Notre Dame. It is a Catholic Cathedral and it was opened in 1345. It was big and pretty. We lit some candles and walked around. It was mum’s first cathedral. They let her in because she was wearing pants this time!

The next day we went to the Eiffel Tower. We went all the way to the top and it was an amazing view! They started to build the Eiffel Tower in 1887 by Gustave Eiffel. He lived there too. It is 301 metres tall.

On Sunday Mum bought tickets to go to Disneyland so we drove there and was told we weren’t allowed in because Mum bought tickets for the wrong day!

So we went to the Musee de Lourve instead. Mum went to buy tickets but she was told it had already closed!  It’s ok though, we went to the Museum shops and went sliding with Dad. After the Lourve, we met up with mum’s friend Santina and Jeff for dinner. They were very nice.

We finally went to Disneyland but I will write about that in another blog.
